05/10/15 Call for volunteers Call for volunteers to join us at the first Geekstone conference The volunteer program has been associated with the first Geekstone conference and it will become an integral part of the conference running each of the year. Here is some information about volunteering opportunities. If you are thinking about volunteering it’s fairly simple. Once the arrangements have been finalized, you can send us your email at maja@geekstone.org and describe why you would like to be a part of the Geekstone community. You need to know Serbian and English language. Below are some FAQ’s to explain how it all works. Who are Volunteers ? Volunteers typically are people with an involvement in the IT industry, who are interested in experiencing the conference and to contribute. We are looking for people with a background in building and running networks, good communication skills and reliable. What can I expect to do at the conference ? Various tasks will be assigned according to volunteers skills and needs: help at the registration desk, audio-visual assistance during the sessions, etc… What qualification do I need ? You don’t have to be an expert! Students and enthusiasts work alongside industry professionals. Enthusiasm and interest in the topics of the conference are important qualities. You must have a good attitude and a love of the web but you definitely don’t need a PhD degree. The conference is a great place to learn more about web development and authoring but this kind of experience is not particularly relevant to volunteering. What do I get ? Volunteers are requested to work 12 hours on the December 4th. For their work, volunteers get registration access to the conference, complimentary meal and drinks, chance to meet and talk to amazing international and local speakers. There will be a flexible system that will allow you to schedule your work commitments and to attend the parts of the conference that interest you.
